Rookie GCL Yankees:

GCL Yanks season ended today after losing to the GCL Marlins in the playoffs. Jose Ramirez took his first loss of the whole season going 6 innings, 4 hits, 2 runs (both earned), 3BBs 4Ks.

A few better late than never notes:
  • Austin Romine was named Florida State League Player of the Year.
  • Austin Jackson was named Rookie of the Year for the International League.
  • A correction on Dellin Betances (h/t to Mike A. over at RAB). He did not have Tommy John Surgery but rather a ligament reinforcement procedure which is, as Mike said, similar to what Mo had done in his early years.
  • And lastly, the five guys called up today were: Michael Dunn, making his ML debut very soon I would believe, Ramiro Pena, Francisco Cervelli, Mark Melancon and Edwar Ramirez.
