Austin Jackson probably had his best game of the second half. He went 4 for 6 with a double, 5RBIs, and a run scored. Jumped his average to .298.
Humberto Sanchez made his AAA debut since being promoted from Trenton and was great. 2IP 1H 2BBs 4Ks.
Double-A Trenton:
Eduardo Nunez had another great day going 2 for 4 with two walks, a double, and a run scored. He is hitting .500 over last ten games in 36ABs with 7 Doubles, 1HR, and a 5:0 BB:K
ratio. Outside of just raking since the All-Star Break, he has improved his BB:K ratio from 10:40 in 297ABs in the first half to 12:17 in 173ABs in the second half.
High-A Tampa:
David Adams went 3 for 4 with another double and a run scored.
Rookie GCL Yankees:
GCL Yanks season ended today after losing to the GCL Marlins in the playoffs. Jose Ramirez took his first loss of the whole season going 6 innings, 4 hits, 2 runs (both earned), 3BBs 4Ks.
A few better late than never notes:
- Austin Romine was named Florida State League Player of the Year.
- Austin Jackson was named Rookie of the Year for the International League.
- A correction on Dellin Betances (h/t to Mike A. over at RAB). He did not have Tommy John Surgery but rather a ligament reinforcement procedure which is, as Mike said, similar to what Mo had done in his early years.
- And lastly, the five guys called up today were: Michael Dunn, making his ML debut very soon I would believe, Ramiro Pena, Francisco Cervelli, Mark Melancon and Edwar Ramirez.
