I cannot express enough how on point MGL and Tango have been all postseason. Their book and their blog really should be required reading for anyone who uses statistics for their arguments.

Yesterday, MGL commented on the decision to bench Nick Swisher. I agree with him here, but Lisa from Subway Squawkers didn't. I debated with her briefly on Twitter, and then later saw she tried to debate MGL for a bit. Bad move. Read through the comments and you will learn a lot about why a slump isn't predictive.

On that same note, they had a snarky little post titled "It wasn't just the good numbers - it was that he was locked in, confident, and loose!" in reference to A-Rod:

A-Rod, that is.

Wait, he is 0-8 with 6 K.

Must be Utley then.  Two home runs in game 1. Surely he is hot as a pistol.  We’ll pitch around him, maybe even walk him with no one base in the 9th.

Wait, he was 0-3 with a DP today.

Let’s see who else it hot or cold…

That just highlights the ridiculousness of how the media credits players for being clutch and locked in at the plate. MGL also put together a bit of a World Series Game 2 Recap, questioning decisions and debunking conventional wisdom (as always).
