Around the Yankees 4/5
Scranton -AAA
Lost 3-1 to Indianapolis
- The big news on the day had to due with the injuries. Posada moved to the DL and that bumped Frankie Cervelli to the majors from AA. It appears that Pilittere will remain in AAA for now after it was initially reported he was moving down somewhat incredibly due to his numbers so far.
- Kei Igawa pitched well, going 6 and 1/3 innings while striking out 6 and only allowing one run on a HR. He also walked one and gave up 3 hits. Valdez spoiled the day for Igawa though as he walked 4, only managing to get 1 out, and gave up 2 earned runs.
- JB Cox pitched an inning and a third and struck out 2. He inherited 3 runners and allowed none to score.
- Kevin Russo stayed hot after last night and went 2 for 4.
- Your hero and mine, Shelly Duncan had a rare 0 for 4.
- Todd Linden had the hit streak spoiled as he was 0 for 2 with 2 walks.
- Austin Jackson was 1 for 4.
- Chris Stewart responded well to the opportunity and was 2 for 3 with a double.
- Kevin Cash was 0 for 1 in his first AB since the injury and grounded into a double play.
Trenton-AA
Washed out again in Bowie
- Humberto Sanchez was resigned to AA on the DL. Obviously he's now off the 40 man roster and will have to really step it up to ever get back on it.
Tampa-A+
Lost 3-0 to Daytona-7 straight, 2nd consecutive shut out
- Ryan Zink went 6 innings giving up all 3 runs on 9 hits and 1 walk while striking out 3.
- The good news here is that Montero was back in the game as a DH after leaving with an injury last night. He was 1 for 3 with a double and a walk.
- Damion Sublett was 1 for 3 with a triple and a walk.
- Austin Romine was also 1 for 3 with a walk and allowed 1 stolen base.
Charleston-A
Lost to Greenville 9-2
- Andrew Brackman started and did not pitch well. The big righty went 4 innings and gave up 1 run on 2 hits with 3 walks and 3 strike outs. He also made his 3rd error of the year which helped to plate another 2 runs.
- Ryan Adams was 1 for 4 with a double and an RBI. He's now hitting .304 on the season.
- Ray Kruml was 1 for 3 with a walk and a run scored. He also stole his 9th base of the season.
- Taylor Grote was 2 for 4 with a double.
- Casey Erickson pitched 3 good innings in relief allowing only 2 hits and striking out 3.
