Scranton-AAA
Lost to Charlotte 1-0
- Chein-Ming Wang threw 84 pitches in his rehab outing. He threw 6 innings of shut out ball, giving up 3 hits, 3 walks and striking out 6. Chad Jennings had the can't miss details and I'll refer you to them here.
- Anthony Claggett was the hard luck loser tonight giving up 1 unearned run, striking out 3 over 3 innings of work on only 2 hits and 1 walk.
- Linden, Miranda, Nunez and Austin Jackson all picked up 1 hit a piece tonight. And that was it for the offense.
Trenton-AA
Lost to Portland 6-1
- Alan Horne started and was not very good again. He went 3 innings walked 3 struck out 2 and gave up 4 earned runs. He also reportedly left with another injury which is just awful news.
- Noel Castillo impressively walked 3 and allowed a run without recording an out. His ERA is now 11.25.
- Corona, Vasquez and Cooper collected the only 3 Thunder hits tonight.
- In a relatively bad sign for the Yankees, Tazawa looked dazzling, throwing 6 shut out innings with 7 Ks and 1 BB on 3 hits.
- Those looking for the Lars Anderson show must have also been disappointed in what has been a disappointing start to the prospects season so far : 0 for 2 with 2 strike outs but he did have 3 walks. He's hitting just .231 in the early going.
Tampa-A+
Lost to Daytona 6-5
- Jeremy Bleich started and was not very good tonight giving up 5 earned runs. He walked 2 and struck out 4 in 5 and 2/3s.
- Jon Ortiz continued his poor spring, giving up 3 hits and allowing the winning run to score in the bottom of the 9th. He only recorded 1 out.
- Jesus Montero was 2 for 4 with a run scored and 2 RBIs. Average sitting at .316.
- Wady Rufino was 2 for 4 with a double.
- Brandon Laird was 2 for 3 with 2 RBIs and a walk.
- Eric Fryer was 1 for 3 with a walk, 2 runs scored and was picked off first.
Charleston-A
Beat Lexington 3-2
- Brett Marshall had an outstanding start tonight, pitching 6 shut out innings, allowing 1 hit and 3 walks with 7 strike outs. It's nice to see him get going.
- Pat Vindette locked up his 8th save of the season, pitching a scoreless 9th with 1 strike out.
- Dan Brewer had a big night. He was 2 for 5 with a HR and a 2B and 2 RBIs. He's hitting .371 on the year and has been a bright spot for Charleston.
- Abraham Almonte was 3 for 4 with a run scored and his 6th stolen base of the year. He's 8 for his last 16 and may be starting to come around.
