Mike A. over at River Ave Blues decided to write up a prospect profile on Eric Duncan yesterday. Once the top prospect in the Yankees system, Eric Duncan's fall from grace was something  most of us didn't see coming. When I was in 15 and just started following the Yankees farm system, I was very optimistic about Duncan's future with the Yankees. In fact, I got so caught up in the Eric Duncan hype that I started to believe that he could be our own David Wright. I spread the word to all my friends, and they all told me that I was crazy. Yeah, I was probably drinking the kool aid on that one, but even if Eric didn't necessarily have David's gaudy numbers, Eric was still one year younger than Wright when Eric reached AA. Injury-plagued seasons mixed with the Yankees eagerness to push Eric to levels he wasn't ready for is the reason why he's in the position he's in right now: irrevelant. But I haven't totally given up on him yet.  After all, if Chase Utley and Ryan Howard can make.it at 24, then Eric Duncan certainly can. (I don't think I really believe this, but a fan can hope!)
