A few bits of injury news today from Chad Jennings and Mike Ashmore:

• George Kontos has been placed on the SWB disabled list. He went thirteen days in between starts and then pitched poorly last night. He was having his most impressive season yet and was in line for a call up at some point this season, so lets hope this is nothing serious
• Christian Garcia is going to miss the rest of the season after having elbow surgery last week. This is some sad news, as I was hoping Garcia was finally on the way to having that breakout season we've been waiting for, but he just cannot stay healthy. He was struggling with his control with Trenton but striking out almost a batter per inning and had an ERA of 0.71.
  
• J.B. Cox was again placed on the D.L. with an unknown injury. It must be frustrating for these guys to constantly rehab.
• Also, the NY Post is reporting that Nady is done for the season. The Yankees could have used him this year, as a good right handed bat off the bench. I think Cashman could make a small deal for a decent right handed bench player now.

Rough day of injuries all around for the Yankees organization. A win over the Mets would be nice tonight.
