With the All-star break finally over I thought we break things up a bit and put together a hypothetical "System All-Star team"- guys who have done well at whatever level at each position. It'll also give us a chance to take a look at how our top guys are doing so far in 2009. We'll start with the outfield.

Outfield

Shelly Duncan-AAA

.287/.384/.582, 22 HRs, 71 RBIs, .415 wOBA

How could you not pick this man? He leads the International league with 22 HRs (7 more than anyone else), SLG% and OPS. He's been hitting a ton this year and has certainly raised some eyebrows among Yankee fans who wonder why he hasn't gotten a shot. Aside from not being on the 40 man roster, it would be fun to see him come off the bench, no?

Austin Jackson-AAA

.324/.389/.452, 4 HRs, 15 SBs, 41 RBIs, .385 wOBA

Another no brainer. The youngest player in International league also happens to be one of the Yankees top prospects and has been killing it all year. The extra base hits have started to matriculate, the speed is evident (only 1 CS) and Austin Jackson has definitely not disappointed, BABIP or no BABIP.

Neil Medchill-R

.349/.380/.698, 7 HRs, 18 RBIs, 84 ABs, .462 wOBA

Medchill has only had 84 professional at bats but has made the most of them. Leading the New York-Penn league in HRs, Medchill has gotten off to a torrid start. The one caveat to all his progress is the lack of walks- 5BB/20Ks isn't going to get it done. In his defense though he hasn't had to walk- he's second in the league in hitting and the league leader in SLG%.

Alternates

Kelvin De Leon-GCL-    .324/.375/.527, 4 HRs, 3 SB, 74 ABs, .464 wOBA

John Rodriguez-AAA- .283/.368/.505, 12 HRs, .381 wOBA

Melky Mesa-A-            .251/.332/.514, 18 HRs, 6 3B, 10 SB, .382 wOBA
