Pending Pinstripes Latest Posts

Well as the news comes out, we can tell you what we’ve known here for some time now, which is that MVN is shutting down.

First off, I’d like to thank MVN creator Evan Brunell and all the people behind the scenes for their dedication and hard work, often without pay or compensation to keep this network alive. On behalf of Greg and myself, we’re deeply grateful for all your work.

Secondly, the good news is that Pending Pinstripes won’t be going away. We’ll be taking our act to Bloguin in the near future and we’ll get you more information on that as it becomes available. We’ll continue to post regularly on MVN for as long as it takes us to transition to Bloguin, so stay tuned for much more content.

Greg and I started writing last April and I know that I feel we’ve come a long way. We started on unsteady ground, uncertain of exactly how we should proceed to bring Pending Pinstripes back. It was a daunting task- those who came before us had done terrific work and gone on to write for all the places your probably familiar with- River Ave Blues, The Yankee Universe, etc.

We started with the draft coverage and felt our way out, kind of stumbled a bit during the summer months but as the seasons turned we really endeavored to improve and the blog has coalesced to where it is now. Greg's prolific efforts have enabled the success of our "mission creep" as we've started to cover more and more Yankee material in addition to diligently writing about the minor league system. Greg has become a respected and renowned voice in the Yankee community, and his hard work has engendered the success we've achieved thus far. We're both excited about our next step- we’re not planning on slowing down anytime soon.

What we appreciate most though is your continued efforts to read and follow this blog on a daily basis. We know it hasn't always been easy. MVN suffered towards the end when its resources became strained and the transition costs started to add up. We love the comments and the passion that have been evident throughout the posts we’ve done and I hope that you continue to give us feed back, ask us questions and voice your opinions. We appreciate your support through any sort of transitional hiccups that may occur (not that we’re expecting any) and hope that you’ll continue following us.

Again, writing for MVN has been an incredible experience, one we’re greatly thankful for. If you get a chance, please stop by Evan Brunell’s website and leave some words of encouragement and thanks for all the work he’s done here. It’s never easy to loose something you’ve worked so hard for, so our sympathies and gratitude are going to be forever extended to him. He never stopped working, even making sure that every blog had a place to go when the MVN shutdown became imminent. So stay tuned as we're continuing this week to bring you prospect profiles, hot stove updates and much more.

Thanks for all your support,

Sean P

Edit by Greg: I didn't want to make a full separate post considering Sean pretty much covered everything, but I wanted to extend a thank you to Evan Brunell and MVN as well for letting us take over Pending Pinstripes and try to bring it back to respectability. We will still be posting here on a daily basis, so don't go anywhere yet. Keep coming back, reading, commenting, and we'll keep you updated on what the new address will be.

I hate to see MVN go, it really has been a mainstay for so long and it sucks that it didn't work out. As Sean said, we are going to keep getting better and posting consistent quality content, so don't think this is the end of Pending Pinstripes.
