Josh Towers-AAA-RHP

7 IP, 5 H, 0 R,0 ER,3 BB, 2 K

When you start to look up candidates who could replace the struggling Sidney Ponson Sergio Mitre in the Yankees rotation Josh Towers is like it or not, probably on that list. The former Blue Jay right hander has a 3.78 ERA in 82 innings this year with 16 walks and 42 strikeouts. The ERA and walks are nice but the low K rate in AAA is more than pedestrian and I would hope, enough to keep the Yankees from taking a gamble on Towers in the big leagues (has a 5.04 FIP). But one never knows and as long as another 5th starter is needed, Towers will probably be somewhere on that list.

David Adams-A+-2B

2-for-5, 1 2B, 1 R, 1 SB, 1 RBI

Adams started the year in low A Charleston but the 2008 3rd rounder was promoted to Tampa and has continued to hit well. The former UVA 2nd baseman is currently hitting .298/.381/.513 in Tampa. He's been hot for the past week now, hitting .391 with 3 triples and a homerun. At some point in the future he'll be another candidate for utility infielder if not more.

Kyle Higashioka-R-C

3-for-5, 3 R, 1 HR, 4 RBI

After a slow start Higashioka has been hot of late, hitting .378 with 4 doubles and a home run in the last 10 games. The highly touted catching prospect had big expectations coming into this year but has been just okay so far-hopefully this hot streak is the start of something.

Arodys Vizcaino-R-RHP

5 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 6 K

Vizcaino might be the biggest riser this season in terms of Yankee pitching prospects. Right now the 19 year old has 51K's in just 41 innings with 16 BBs and a 2.16 ERA. He's definitely distinguished himself as one of the best pitching prospects in the system and it'll be fun watching him in the future.
