As you can see, MVN has switched to a Movable Type template from Wordpress.  What that means, I have no idea.  All I know is that now is the first time in a while that I have been able to post, so sorry for the recent absence.  Here are season stats for some of the top Yankee prospects in the AFL and HWB.

  • Juan Miranda (AFL):  .389/.463/.750 with a homer, 2 triple, and 6 doubles in 36 AB's.  Putting up the kind of performance that he needs to to catch the Yankees' eye.
  • Austin Jackson (AFL):  .267/.306/.400 with 2 doubles and 2 triples in 45 AB's.  Solid but not spectacular.
  • Phil Hughes (AFL):  1-0 with a 5.68 ERA, 11 k's and 8 bb's in 12 2/3 innings.  Phil's first 2 outings were strong, but he got shelled in his 3rd outing (7 hits and 7 runs in 2 2/3 innings).
  • Andrew Brackman (HWB):  2-3 with a 5.03 ERA, 20 k's vs. 12 walks in 19 2/3 innings.  The 6'10" righty has had 3 strong outings and 2 bad ones.  Consistency should not be expected of him this early, but reports of his stuff (hitting mid-90's with fastball and showing the good curve) are encouraging.
  • Jeremy Bleich (HWB):  1-1 with a 2.41 ERA, 14 k's vs. 8 bb's in 18 2/3 innings.  A good start for the much-maligned (already) lefty from Stanford.
