- Jeff Karstens got the start and allowed 2 runs on 6 hits and 2 walks in 4 innings of work, striking out 2 in the process. He is definitely being groomed for the long relief role up on the big club.
- Update: Well I was totally wrong on that assumption. Seems like Jeff felt something in his groin and was removed. Too bad for him. Now, all indications are that Dan Giese will be backing up Joba come Tuesday.
- David Robertson was dominant in his 2 1/3 innings of 2 hit ball, as 6 of the 7 recorded outs were via the strikeout.
- Brett Gardner, Ben Broussard, and Cody Ransom were hitless in their respective at bats.
- Alberto Gonzalez, Jason Lane, and Justin Christian were 1 for 4. Jason's hit was a homerun. Lane and Gonzo also drew a walk each.
- Eric Duncan, Nick Green, and Chris Stewart were 2 for 4.
- Phil Coke pitched 2 innings, allowing a run on a hit and a walk while striking out 2. I have no idea why he was removed so early in the game.
- Mark Melancon showed he was human after all as he allowed 2 runs on 5 hits (1 homerun) in 3 2/3 innings. He did have 2 strikeouts and a 8-1 groundout-flyout ratio as well.
- Anthony Claggett allowed a hit and 2 walks but no further in his 2 1/3 scoreless innings of relief. He also had 2 strikeouts.
- Eric Wordekemper allowed a hit and a walk but pitched a scoreless ninth, also adding a strikeout to his line.
- Ramiro Pena was 0 for 4 with a walk.
- Austin Jackson, Jose Tabata, Edwar Gonzalez, and Kevin Russo were 2 for 6. Kevin's hits were doubles.
- Colin Curtis was 3 for 6.
- PJ Pilittere and Chris Malec were 4 for 5. Chris had a double.
- Reegie Corona was 2 for 5.
- Despite all the runs scored, the Trenton hitters weren't able to muster a homerun in today's contest.
- Zachary McAllister made his first start at the High A level and was inconsistent, allowing 5 runs (4 earned) on 7 hits and a walk in just 4 innings of work, striking out 4 in the process. In due time, he will be fine.
- Kevin Whelan struck out 4 and allowed just a hit in 2 shutout innings of work.
- Eduardo Nunez and Josue Calzado were 3 for 5. Eduardo had a double while Josue had a double and a triple.
- James Cooper was 2 for 5.
- Jose Gil and Mitch Hilligross were 1 for 4. Mitch hit a double.
- Kyle Anson was 0 for 5.
- Andres Perez was 1 for 5.
- Kevin Smith was 2 for 4 with a double.
- University of San Francisco product Brian Chavez was 0 for 3.
- Adam Olbrychowski got the start and allowed 2 hits while striking out 3 in 5 innings of work.
- Wilkens De La Rosa struck out 3 in his 3 innings of work. He also allowed 2 hits.
- Jonathan Ortiz allowed a hit but no further in his inning of relief.
- Abe Almonte and Brandon Laird were 0 for 4. Abe also had a stolen base, his 12th of the season.
- Justin Snyder, Austin Romine, and Brian Baisley were 1 for 3. Justin drew a walk while Austin and Brian had a double each.
- Jesus Montero, Carmen Angelini, Austin Krum, and Dave Williams were 0 for 3.
