• Heath Phillips got the start, and was mediocre. In 3 innings, Phillips gave up 4 runs on 4 hits and 2 walks.
• Steven Jackson gave up a run on 3 hits and a walk in 2 2/3 innings, while striking out 2.
• The Yankees victimized Red Sox catching prospect George Kottaras for 6 steals.
• Bernie Castro was 1 for 4 with a walk and a steal.
• Justin Christian was 2 for 5 with 3 stolen bases.
• Brett Gardner was 2 for 4 with a triple, a walk, and his 14th steal.
• Jason lane was 1 for 3 with a triple and a walk.
• Eric Duncan was 2 for 3 with a walk and a steal.

• Ryan Pope got the start, giving up 5 runs (3 earned) in 6 innings on 9 hits, while striking out 4.
• Kevin Whelan gave up a run on 2 hits and a walk in 2 innings of relief.
• Wilkins Arias struck out 3 and gave up a hit in 1 inning of relief.
• Damon Sublett was 3 for 4 with a walk.
• Seth Cooper was 3 for 4 with a home run.
• Josue Calzado was 2 for 4 with a double, a homer, an error, and an outfield assist.
• Luis Nunez was 1 for 3 with a walk.
• Tim Battle was 2 for 4.

• Jason Stephens got the start, giving up 3 runs on 7 hits and a walk in 6 1/3 innings. He also struck out 3.
• Wilkins De La Rosa gave up 5 runs (1 earned) in 2 1/3 innings of work. He allowed 3 hits and walked 4, so he clearly did not have his command today.  He also made a fielding error and balked with the bases loaded, which did not help his cause.
• Austin Krum, Justin Snyder and Braedyn Pruitt were each 1 for 4.
• Jesus Montero was 1 for 3 with a walk to bring his average up to .307.
• Brandon Laird was 2 for 4 with a double.
• Carmen Angelini was 1 for 4.
