Scranton's game against Durham was postponed Trenton falls to Connecticut, 5-4
  • Daniel McCutchen had his first rough outing of the year, giving up 5 runs on 10 hits and 1 walk, while striking out 8. The k:bb ratio was still very impressive, but that is too many hits.
  • Dave Robertson pitched a perfect inning of relief, with 1 strikeout. I have heard that he is headed to Scranton (for real now).
  • Austin Jackson, who has been slumping recently (.234 in his last 10 games) was 1 for 4.
  • Jose Tabata was back in the lineup, but went 0 for 4 to lower his average to .191. He is in a major slump, only 3 for his last 38.
  • Chris Malec was 1 for 3 with a double and a walk.
  • Kevin Russo was 3 for 4.
Tampa over Sarasota, 5-2
  • Michael Dunn had another solid start, giving up 2 runs on 7 hits and 2 walks in 5 innings of work.
  • Mark Melancon was great in relief, giving up just 1 hit in 3 innings of work, while striking out 3. He seems to be settling into a groove, as he has given up 1 run in his last 14 1/3 innings. He will probably take Roberston's place in Trenton if and when he is promoted.
  • Jon Hovis pitched a scoreless 9th to earn the save.
  • Damon Sublett was 1 for 4 with a walk and 2 strikeouts.
  • Eduardo Nunez wasa 1 for 5 with a double.
  • Mitch Hilligoss was 2 for 5.
  • Kyle Anson was 1 for 5 with a double and 2 strikeouts.
  • Jose Gil was 2 for 4 with a double.
  • Tim Battle was 1 for 3 with a homer and a walk.

  • Lance Pendleton got hit hard in 3 innings of work, to the tune of 5 runs on 8 hits and a walk. He also struck out 3.
  • Jesse Hoover gave up a run on 2 hits in 2 innings of relief, but also struck out 3.
  • Jason Stephens struck out 4 in 3 innings of scoreless relief.
  • Ryan Zink pitched a perfect 9th.
  • Abe Almonte was 1 for 5 with 2 strikeouts, and he is slumping as well (.171 in his last 10 games).
  • Carmen Angelini was 2 for 5.
  • Justin Snyder was 2 for 3 to raise his average to .320.
  • Jesus Montero was 0 for 4, dropping his average to .348 and ending his hitting streak.
  • Dave Williams and Austin Krum were each 1 for 3.
