Matt Garza (3 IP, 0 R, 4 K's) and David Price (1 IP, 0 R, 3 K's) absolutely dominated. Good for them. The Yankees lost 4-1. Okay. Virtually every Yankee pitching prospect outside of Chris Britton was terrible. It’s just spring training. Frankie Cervelli fractures his wrist in the ninth inning of a spring training game because Tampa Bay’s Elliot Johnson decides that he’s playing football instead of baseball. Inexcusable! It’s funny how these so called professional baseball players don’t realize that the games they play in March are only spring training games! These games have no meaning! It is absolutely ludacris! I would understand if Johnson rammed into Cervelli during the regular season, but crushing the life out of a catcher just to score one meaningless run in one meaningless game is totally uncalled for. All the other side stories can be thrown right out the window. This was Cervelli’s year to break out, to come into his own, reach his potential. Now he has a fractured wrist, and no one really knows when he’ll be back to full health, let alone play baseball for that matter. What happened earlier today really shocked me. Words cannot explain how upset I am right now. I just hope that Cervelli is able to heal quickly and get back on the diamond as soon as he can. He’ll be fine. It’s just unfortunate that his season had to start out this way. Pitching: Chris Britton: 1 1/3 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 0 BB, 1 K Jonathan Albaladejo: 1 IP, 0 R, 1 H, 1 BB Ross Ohlendorf: 1 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 1 HR Hitting: Juan Miranda: 0-2 Justin Christian: 0-1 Jose Tabata: 0-1. 1 K Franciso Cervelli: 0-0 Kyle Anson: 0-1 Tomorrow, the Yankees will be taking on the Twins at 1:05 pm. Phil Hughes will take the mound against Boof Bonser. I just hope it's a clean game.
