• Jeff Karstens allowed a run on 4 hits and a walk in 7 innings, striking out 4 in the process. He threw 93 pitches, 65 of them going for strikes.
• Brett Gardner, Jason Lane, and Chris Stewart were all 0 for 4. Brett and Jason drew a walk.
• Juan Miranda and Eric Duncan were 2 for 5 with a double.
• Matt Carson was 2 for 4 with a double.

• Jason Jones, (filling in for the injured Alfredo Aceves) got his first start at the Triple A level and allowed only a hit and a walk in 5 shutout frames, striking out 7 batters in the process. He threw 63 pitches, 43 of them going for strikes.
• J.B. Cox allowed 2 runs on 3 hits and 2 walks in just 2/3 of an inning. No worries.
• Brett Gardner was 0 for 2 with 2 walks and 2 stolen bases, giving him 32 for the season. With the possibility of Hideki Matsui needing season ending knee surgery, should Brett be called up in the near future?
• JD Closser was 1 for 3 with a double. The only hit of the game for the SWB Yanks.
• Cody Ransom, Juan Miranda, Eric Duncan, Shelley Duncan, Matt Carson, Nick Green, and Greg Porter were hitless in their respective at bats.

• Chase Wright got the start and was not long for this game, probably due to rain. In 2 2/3 innings, Chase allowed 4 runs (1 earned) on 6 hits and a walk, striking out 3 in the process.
• Anthony Claggett allowed 2 hits and a walk but no further in his 3 2/3 innings of work, striking out 3 in the process.
• Colin Curtis, batting leadoff, was 1 for 4 with a homer and a walk.
• Austin Jackson was also 1 for 4 with a walk.
• PJ Pillitere and Cody Ehlers were 0 for 3 with 2 walks.
• Jose Tabata was 3 for 4, raising his average to .246.
• Edwar Gonzalez was 0 for 4.
• Reegie Corona was 1 for 4 with a double.

• Ian Kennedy (have you heard of him?) got the start and scattered 2 hits and a walk over 5 scoreless frames, striking out 4 in the process.
• Mr. Inconsistent Ivan Nova allowed the winning run on 2 hits in 3 innings of work, striking out 2 in the process.
• Luis Nunez, James Cooper, and Kevin Smith each got a hit in their respective at bats.
• Mitch Hilligross, Andres Perez, Seth Fortenberry, Eduardo Nunez, Tim Battle, Eladio Rodriguez were hitless for the day. Mitch, to his credit, drew 2 walks.

• Noel Castillo got the start and pitched well, allowing a run on 3 hits in 6 innings of work, striking out 4 in the process. He also had a 10-4 groundout-flyout ratio.
• Craig Heyer allowed 2 runs on 4 hits in his 1 2/3 innings of work.
• Jonathan Ortiz allowed a hit and struck out 3 in 1 1/3 innings of shutout relief.
• Abe Almonte, Carmen Angelini and Austin Krum were 0 for 4. Carmen had 3 Ks. Ouch.
• Justin Snyder and Dave Williams were 1 for 4.
• Brad Suttle was 2 for 4 with a double and a triple. Promotion anyone?
• Jesus Montero, catching, was 1 for 3 with 2 RBIs.
• Austin Romine, dhing, was 1 for 4.
• Brandon Laird was 0 for 1 with a walk.
• Taylor Holiday was 0 for 2.

• Luke Greinke, this year's 12th round pick and younger brother of Zack Greinke, scattered a hit and a walk over 5 shutout frames, striking out 3 in the process. He also had a 8-3 groundout-flyout ratio.
• Jason Kiley allowed 3 runs on 6 hits and a walk in his 1 2/3 innings of work, striking out 2 in the process.
• Tim Dennehy allowed a hit but no further in his 1 1/3 innings of shutout pitching, striking out a batter as well.
• Raymond Kruml, David Adams, and Taylor Grote were 0 for 4.
• Braedyn Pruitt and Brian Baisley were 1 for4. Brian hit a double.
• Daniel Brewer was 1 for 3 with a walk.
• Jack Rye and Melky Mesa were 0 for 1.
