- Alan Horne got the start, and seems to still be working out the kinks. In 6 innings, Horne gave up 4 runs (3 earned) on 7 hits (2 homers) and 4 walks, while striking out 2. He did have a 10:6 groundout:flyout ratio, which is promising.
- JB Cox was back from the DL, and picked up where he left off, pitching a perfect inning and striking out 1. When Latroy Hawkins is inevitably DFA'd, he and Dave Robertson will likely be the frontrunners to fill that spot.
- Brett Gardner was 1 for 3 with 2 more walks, and also struck out twice. You'd have to think he is motivated (and maybe a little pissed off) by seeing Justin Christian get promoted ahead of him.
