  • Dellin Betances kicked off the GCL Yankees season by tossing 2 shutout innings, allowing a hit and a walk while striking out 3. He must be rehabbing there.
  • 17 year old Manuel Banuelos scattered 4 hits in his 3 2/3 innings of shutout relief, striking out 4 in the process. Eric the other day was talking about Manuel making him feel old. Well, I haven't officially graduated from high school and this kid is younger than me!
  • Jose Pirela was 2 for4.
  • Corban Joseph, this year's 4th round pick, was 0 for 2 with a walk.
  • Zolio Almonte was 1 for 3 with a homerun.
  • Chad Gross, this year's 28th round pick, was 0 for 3.

  • Ryan Flannery, this year's 47th round pick, allowed a hit but struck out 2 in his 2 innings of relief.
  • Jose Pirela, Zolio Almonte, and Tommy Baldridge were 0 for 3.

  • Francisco Arcia was 0 for 1 with a walk.
