Yankees Draftees In Action
  • In 5 plus innings of work, Yankees 1st round supplemental pick (#44 overall) Jeremy Bleich out of Stanford allowed a run (solo shot) on 6 hits and 2 walks, striking out 7 in the process (career high). Jeremy threw 89 pitches, 56 of them for strikes. The more I watch this guy, the more I love the pick. Jeremy, for the most part, kept the Seminoles off balance. If the defense behind him had played a little better, Jeremy would have probably been able to pitch a little deeper into the game. Regardless, Stanford beat Florida State 16-5, with the 11 go ahead runs all coming in the top of the 9th.
  • Yankees 13th round pick (#410 overall) Jack Rye out of Florida State was 0 for 4 with a walk and 2 strikeouts. Against Bleich, Rye was 0 for 3. At the end of the day, Rye single handedly left 9 runners on base (ouch)!
