- Dan Giese started off the game and pitched a shutout inning, allowing only a hit. This is because he will most certainly be backing up Joba on Tuesday. He definitely deserves the promotion, as he has pitched to the tune of a 1.98 ERA all season long.
- Steven White took over and was horrible. In only 3 innings of work, White allowed 7 runs (6 earned) on 5 hits and 4 walks, while striking out 3.
- J.B. Cox allowed a hit but no further in his inning of relief. He is yet to allow a run at the Triple A level. If I were the Yankees, I would have promoted J.B. over Scotty Patterson. However, considering the fact that Scott is already on the 40 man, I understand why they did otherwise.
- Brett Gardner was 2 for 4 with a double, a triple, and a walk. He also had an outfield assist at 3rd base. I'm now come around full and now believe that BG would be an excellent starter in the big leagues. He has developed so nicely this year, more than I could have ever imagined. Bold Prediction: Brett will be in the big leagues before the end of this month.
- Jason Lane was 1 for 5.
- Eric Duncan was 2 for 4 with a double, a homerun, and 4 RBIs. ED is now hitting at a .263 clip. My main man also has a .350 on base clip. I will say no more.
- Ben Broussard was 3 for 5 with a double.
- Dan McCutchen was also in the news as he was suspended 3 games for throwing behind 2 Pawtucket hitters. He is serving is suspension, starting today respectively. Chad Jennings has the specifics.
- Jason Jones got the start and allowed a run on 5 hits and 2 walks in 6 innings of work, striking out 6 in the process. He also had a sick 10-1 groundout-flyout ratio.
- Zach Kroenke allowed 3 hits and 2 walks but no further in his 1 1/2 innings of work. He also punched out 3.
- Bo Hall struck out a batter in 1 1/3 innings of relief.
- Austin Jackson was 3 for 5 with 2 doubles and 7 RBIs. This is the second time this season that A-Jack has plated 7 in a game.
- Jose Tabata and Cody Ehlers were 1 for 4 with a walk each. Cody's hit was a double. JT had an RBI.
- Colin Curtis and Kevin Russo were 0 for 4 with a walk each.
- Chris Malec was 2 for 5 with a double.
- Reegie Corona was 2 for 3 with a walk and a RBI.
- Ramiro Pena was 0 for 2 with 3 walks.
- Chris Garcia got the start and struggled for the first time this season. In 4 innings of work, Chris gave up 6 runs on 8 hits and 3 walks while striking out 4. He'll be fine. TJ guys are expected to have clunkers in the beginning.
- Philip Bartleski allowed 4 hits and struck out 2 in 3 shutout innings of relief.
- Eduardo Nunez, Josue Calzado, Chris Kunda, and Tim Battle were 1 for 3. Timmy hit a double while Josue hit his 4th homer of the season, accounting for Tampa's offense in the game. Eduardo also added a walk.
- Andres Perez was 1 for 4.
- Jose Gil, Mitch Hilligross, Ben Blumenthal, and Kevin Smith were hitless in their respective at-bats.
- Lance Pendleton got the start and allowed 3 runs on 6 hits and 1 walk while striking out 4 in 6 innings of work.
- Ryan Zink allowed a run on 2 hits in his inning of relief.
- Chase Vacek allowed 2 runs on a hit and walk in 2/3 of an inning, garnering both outs via the strikout.
- Jonathan Ortiz allowed a hit in his 1 1/3 innings of relief.
- Austin Krum was 1 for 4 with a walk.
- Justin Snyder was 2 for 4.
- Brad Suttle, in his first game action since April 27, was 0 for 4 with a walk.
- Jesus Montero was 2 for 5 with 2 RBIs.
- Austin Romine was 0 for 4.
- Carmen Angelini was 3 for 3 with a walk and a RBI.
- Dave Williams was 1 for 2 with a triple, a walk, and a RBI.
- Walter Ibarra was 1 for 3.
