The Houston Chronicle reports that Marshall, a 6th-round pick by the Yankees in this year's draft out of high school, was honored for impressive his performance on the field this spring.  In addition to dominating on the mound with an 2.27 ERA ERA and 116 strikeouts, Marshall showed he could hit as well, he batting .440 on the season. In the article, he also mentioned that he was a big Yankee fan, and his sports role model was Derek Jeter. Marshall also recently visited the Yankees in Houston, and was spotted attending batting practice before a recent game.  Carmen Angelini received similar treatment last season before receiving a 1 million dollar overslot bonus, and I imagine that Marshall will get signed, though it may not be announced until August 15 because his bonus is likely to be over the recommended amount for a 6th-rounder.  The Yankees were clearly very excited about Marshall, as they almost took him with their sandwich-round pick, and I am excited to see how he performs in pro ball.
