His hometown paper has the story.  Gardner, who has put up an impressive .287/.412/.429 line with 34 steals in 42 attempts, will likely play some left and center field with Hideki Matsui on the DL, and Johnny Damon banged up.  If he hits well, he could put some pressure on the underachieving Melky Cabrera.  He'll likely be a pesky #9 hitter, laying down some drag bunts, getting on base, and making life a living hell for opposing pitchers and catchers.  I am excited to see how he performs.
