Couple of things. - I'll be traveling down to New Jersey from my apartment in Rhode Island tomorrow. Brian Cashman and Theo Epstein are speaking at William Patterson University at 8 PM tomorrow. They'll be talking about a range of issues, from baseball managing philosophy to being a young executive to rise to the top of their sport. I'm going to try and record the whole session, but I'll at least report back to you what he says. Maybe I'll even get a chance to ask a question or two. - River Ave Blues has linked us to some great Milb-related articles recently. Phil Hughes talks here about his fastball velocity and Dave Eiland. Baseball America has a great piece about minor league fastball velocity. Anyone else remember when Sean Henn threw 99? There's a new Trenton Thunder blog in town. And finally, Alan Horne answers a bunch of questions. Nice job Mike. - Compared to the deals that the Mets gave Reyes and Wright, Cano's deal looks downright discounted. He pretty much just sold us two free agency years for very little cost.
