Scranton defeats Pawtucket, 3-2
  • Chase Wright had another solid outing, givin gup 2 runs on 4 hits and a walk in 6 1/3 innings, and striking out 4.  He also kept the ball on the ground with a 10:5 groundout:flyout ratio.  He has had his sinker working evidently.
  • Phil Coke struck out 3 in 1 2/3 perfect innings.
  • Steven Jackson struck out 2 and gave up a hit in 1 shutout inning.
  • Brett Gardner was 1 for 3 with 2 walks, raising his average to .283.
  • Bernie Castro was 1 for 4.
  • Juan Miranda was 2 for 4.
  • Shelley Duncan was 1 for 3 with a homer and a walk in his return to Scranton after missing over a month to injury.
  • Eric Duncan was 1 for 4 with a double.
  • Chris Stewart was 1 for 3 with a walk.
Trenton tops Connecticut, 9-6
  • Eric Hacker started, giving up 3 runs (2 earned) on 8 hits in 6 innings, and struck out 3.  He had a 10:5 GO:AO ratio.
  • Jose Valdez pitched 2 1/3 perfect relief innings.
  • Austin Jackson was 4 for 5 with 2 doubles to raise his average to .297 on the season.  He has 30 doubles on the season and a solid .821 OPS.
  • Chris Malec was 2 for 4 with a triple and a walk, and is hitting .307.
  • Colin Curtis was 2 for 4 with a 3-run jack, raising his average to .258.
  • Kevin Russo was 1 for 4 with a walk.
  • Cody Ehlers was 2 for 5.

Tampa defeats Lakeland, 10-5
  • After a terrible outing last time around in the GCL, Chris Garcia was much better.  In 3 innings of work, Garcia gave up 2 runs (1 earned) on 6 hits and a walk, and struck out 6.
  • Luis Nunez was 1 for 4, but made 2 errors in the field.
  • Eduardo Nunez was 2 for 4 with a steal to raise his average to .267.
  • Kevin Smith and Kyle Anson were 1 for 3.  Smith walked twice, and Anson once.
  • Josh Kreuzer was 2 for 4.
  • Andres Perez was 3 for 4 with 2 steals, but was caught once.
  • Tim Battle was 2 for 3 with a walk and a steal of 3rd.
Charleston dominates Greenville, 15-0
  • Wilkins de la Rosa continued to dominate as a starter, giving up just a hit and a walk in 7 shutout innings, and striking out 5.  If he keeps this up, the Yankees might have to consider placing him on the 40 man roster to protect him from being taken in the rule V draft.
  • Justin Snyder was 3 for 6 with his 6th homer of the season.
  • Brad Suttle was 3 for 5, coming just a double shy of the cycle.  He raised his average to .288 on the season with this performance.
  • Jesus Montero was 1 for 5 with a 2-run double.
  • Austin Romine was 2 for 5 with a double, and is hitting .277.
  • Austin Krum was 3 for 5 with a 2-run shot.
  • Brandon Laird was 1 for 5 with his 16th homer, his 4th in the last 3 games.
  • Carmen Angelini was 1 for 5.
  • Abe Almonte was 1 for 1 with a homer and 2 walks.
  • Prilys Cuello was 1 for 4 with a double and a walk.

  • Andy Shive started, giving upa  run on 5 hits and a walk in 3 2/3 innings, and striking out 5.
  • Addison MAruszak was 2 for 4 with 2 walks and a steal, boosting his average to .330 on the season.
  • Brian Baisley was 1 for 5.
  • Marcos Vechionacci was 1 for 4.
  • Mike Lyon pinch-ran for Vech, and went 1 for 1 with a double.
  • Jack Rye and Jahdiel Santamaria were 2 for 4.
  • Daniel Brewer was 1 for 4.
  • Mitch Abeita was 1 for 4 with a homer.
  • Steven Strasbaugh was 1 for 3 with 2 walks.
GCL Yanks beat Braves, 4-3 (continuation of suspended game)
  •  Matt Richardson started, giving up just a walk in 3 hitless innings, and striking out 1.
  • Mikey O'Brien was similarly impressive, allowing a hit and a walk in 3 2/3 scoreless, and striking out 2.
  • Jose Pirela, Wady Rufino, and Mitch Delaney were all 1 for 5.
  • Corban Joseph was 2 for 5 with a double, raising his average to .292.
  • Jimmy Paredes was 1 for 4 with a double.
  • Francisco Arcia was 1 for 2 with a double, and pinch-ran for Chase Weems, who might have gotten injured, because he didn't have an at bat.
  • Zoilo Almonte was 2 for 4.
  • Chris Smith was 0 for 4, dropping his average to a pathetic .132.
