- Phil Hughes got the start and was absolutely terrible. In 3 1/3 putrid innings, Phil gave up 8 runs on 10 hits and 1 walk, striking out 6 in the process. I guess we got our answer. He's not nearly ready to pitch in the majors any time soon. Maybe it's the glasses or maybe he's going through a dead arm period. Only time will tell.
- Justin Christian was 4 for 6.
- Melky Cabrera was 1 for 6.
- Juan Miranda was 0 for 1 with 3 walks.
- Shelley Duncan was 1 for 6 with a homerun.
- Eric Duncan was 3 for 4 with a double and a walk.
- Chad Moeller was 2 for 5.
- Jeff Marquez got the start and allowed 2 runs on 6 hits and 2 walks, striking out 4 as well. To know how dominating he was, Jeff had a 12-2 groundout-flyout ratio. Sick.
- Ramiro Pena was 1 for 4.
- Frankie Cervelli and Colin Curtis were 0 for 3 with a walk each.
- Reegie Corona was 2 for 4 with a double and a walk.
- Austin Jackson and Edwar Gonzalez were 0 for 2. Edwar walked.
- Walter Ibarra was 0 for 3.
- Alan Horne got the start and decided to pitch like Phil Hughes, only a tad bit worse. In 1 2/3 innings, Alan allowed 9 runs on 9 hits and 2 walks, striking out a batter. Why they won't shut him down I have no idea.
- Luis Nunez was 2 for 4.
- Kevin Smith was 1 for 2 with a walk.
- Tim Battle was 1 for 3.
- Seth Fortenberry, Chris Kunda, Kyle Anson, and Tommy Baldridge were 0 for 3.
- Lance Pendleton got the start and allowed 2 runs on 6 hits and 4 walks in 6 1/3 innings of work, striking out 5 as well.
- Austin Romine and Brandon Laird were 1 for 3. Austin doubled.
- Austin Krum, Brad Suttle, Prilys Cuello, Jesus Montero, Carmen Angelini, Justin Snyder, and Abe Almonte were hitless in their at bats.
- Here's a clip from the homerun hit by Montero last Friday. His at-bat starts at 1:20.
- David Phelps got the start and allowed 4 runs (2 earned) on 6 hits and a walk in 3 2/3 innings.
- Ray Kruml and Brian Baisley were 2 for 5. Ray doubled.
- David Adams was 1 for 3 with a walk.
- Jack Rye, Kelvin Castro, Mitch Albeita, and Taylor Grote were hitless in their at bats. Taylor walked.
- Dan Brewer was 2 for 4 with a walk.
