Scranton falls to Rochester, 3-1
  • Alfredo Aceves put together his best outing in AAA, giving up 3 runs (2 earned) o 3 hits and 3 walks, while striking out 8.  He gave up 2 homers, which is not a great sign, but otherwise it was a very solid performance.
  •  Melky Cabrera and Shelley Duncan were each 1 for 4.
  • Eric Duncan was 1 for 3 with a walk and a fielding error.
  • Nick Green was 1 for 4 with a double.
Trenton defeats Harrisburg, 6-4
  • George Kontos put together another solid outing, giving up a run on 3 hits and 3 walks in 6 innings, and striking out 5.  His ERA on the season dropped to 3.68.
  • Anthony Claggett struck out 2 in 2 shutout innings, and gave up 3 hits.
  • The wild Kevin Whelan was on display tonight.  In 1 inning, Whelan gave up 3 runs on 2 hits and 2 walk, and also uncorked 4 wild pitches.  Whelan tantalizes with his stuff and strikeout potential (he struck out 3 tonight), but every once in a while he comes up with outings like this.
  • Kevin Russo was 1 for 5.
  • Austin Jackson was 2 for 4 with his 18th steal of the season.  He raised his average to .291 on the season.
  • Chris Malec was 1 for 2 with a walk.
  • Colin Curtis was 3 for 4 with his 8th homer of the season.
  • Edwar Gonzalez was 2 for 4.
  • Seth Cooper was 1 for 3 with a walk.
Tampa and Charleston were both off tonight The SI Yanks were off tonight, but several players were in the All-Star game, playing for the AL
  • David Phelps, Pat Venditte, and Andy Shive each pitched a scoreless inning.  Venditte and Shive each had 2 strikeouts and also walked 2.
  • Brian Baisley was 1 for 1 with a walk.
  • Mike Lyon was 1 for 3.
The GCL Yanks were off tonight.
