  • Kei Igawa had a mediocre outing, giving up 4 runs on 7 hits and 2 walks in 5 innings, while striking out 3. This raised his ERA to 3.58 on the season.
  • Steven Jackson, promoted to AAA instead of David Robertson (as previously reported), struck out 1 in a scoreless inning of relief.
  • Scott Patterson gave up a run on 2 hits in 1 inning of work, but also struck out 2.
  • Brett Gardner was 1 for 4 with a walk. His average is now .301.
  • Bernie Castro was 3 for 5 with his 9th steal.
  • Juan Miranda was 1 for 4 with a walk and 2 strikeouts, dropping his average to .261.
  • Jason Lane was 1 for 3 with a walk.
  • Eric Duncan was 1 for 4 with 2 k's.
  • Cody Ransom was 2 for 4 with a home run that accounted for both of Scranton's runs.
Trenton was off today. Tampa defeated by Clearwater, 3-1
  • Ivan Nova had another mediocre outing. He gave up 3 runs on 6 innings, which is not that bad, but he was way too hittable, giving up 11 hits and only striking out 1. On the bright side, he only walked 1, but for a guy with the stuff he supposedly has, he should not be giving up this many hits, and should be striking out more batters.
  • Mark Melancon struck out 2 in 2 innings of shutout relief, while also giving up 2 hits and a walk.
  • Damon Sublett was 2 for 5 with a triple to raise his average to .284 on the season.
  • Mitch Hilligoss was 1 for 4.
  • Edwar Gonzalez continued to rake, going 3 for 4 with 2 doubles. 18 of his 31 hits this season have gone for extra bases, and he is slugging an impressive .596.
  • Kevin Smith was 1 for 3 with a double, a walk and 2 strikeouts.
  • James Cooper was 2 for 4.
Charleston was also off today.
