Game 1: Scranton's edges out Syracuse, 2-1 (7 innings).
  • Darell Rasner got the start and was solid yet again. In 6 innings of 1 run ball, Rasner allowed 5 hits and a walk while striking out 6. It took him 89 pitches (60 for strikes), and he pitched a 4-7 GBO-FBO ratio.
  • Billy Traber struck out the one batter he faced, and Veras was able to close out the final 2/3 of the game unscathed.
  • Brett Gardner, Jason Lane, and Juan Miranda were all hitless in their at-bats.
  • Eric Duncan and catcher Chris Stewart each were 2 for 3. Eric is now batting .275 while Stewart is batting .300.
Game 2: Scranton shut out by Syracuse, 2-0 (7 innings).
  • Jeff Marquez got the start and was solid, allowing 2 runs on 2 hits, and a walk in his 6 innings of work. He had 3 strikeouts and a 7-7 GBO-FBO ratio. The outing took Jeff 90 pitches (54 for strikes) to complete.
  • Brett Gardner, Jason Lane, Nick Green, and Juan Miranda all went 1 for 3 in their at-bats. The hits by these guys were all that the team could muster for the day.
  • Eric Duncan was 0 for 1 with a walk.
Trenton beats New Britain, 7-5.
  • Jason Jones allowed 4 runs on 6 hits and 2 walks across the first 6 frames. He struck out 4 and pitched to a 6-8 GBO-FBO ratio.
  • JB Cox, making his first appearance at the Double-AA level since 2006, was effective. In two shutout innings, he allowed only 2 hits while striking out 1. He also had a 3-2 GBO-FBO ratio. So far, so good for JB.
  • Eric Wordekemper allowed 1 run on one hit (HR) in his inning of relief.
  • Austin Jackson and Cody Ehlers each were 2 for 5. Cody had a double and a RBI. On a sidenote, Tabata got the day off. JT needs it, as his hand probably hasn't healed all the way, resulting in the slump. Update: Tabata was actually for suspended one game for slamming his bat into the ground Saturday vs. New Britain.
  • Ramiro Pena, PJ Pilittere, and Reegie Corona each picked up a hit in their at-bats.
  • Kevin Russo and Matt Carson each picked up 4 hits in their at at-bats. Russo had a double and a triple while Carson had a triple and a homerun. Matt had 5 RBIs on the game.
  • Carlos Mendoza and Chris Malec were hitless in their at-bats.
Tampa shutout by Clearwater, 5-0.
  • Alfredo Aceves turned in a quality start as he allowed 4 runs on 6 hits and 2 walks in 6 innings of work. He also had 3 strikeouts and a 8-5 GBO-FBO ratio.
  • Anthony Claggett, making his first appearance since straining his hamstring in spring training, was effective. In 3 innings of relief, Anthony allowed 1 run on 4 hits. He notched 3 strikeouts and pitched to a 4-1 GBO-FBO ratio. Good to see Anthony back.
  • Seth Fortenberry, Damon Sublett, Josue Calzado, Tim Battle, Edwar Gonzalez, Kevin Smith, and Braedyn Pruitt all were hitless in today's contest. Braedyn was the only one out of the aforementioned 7 to draw a walk.
  • Jose Gil was 2 for 3. He also swiped his first base of the season. Viable catching option for the big league club?
  • Luis Nunez was 1 for 3.
Charleston beats Columbus, 8-3.
  • Adam Olbrychowski got the start and was solid. In 5 innings, Noel allowed 3 runs (0 earned) on 3 hits and 2 walks. He struck out 2 and pitched to an excellent 10-3 GBO-FBO ratio.
  • Craig Heyer pitched 2 shutout innings of 1 hit ball, striking out 2 in the process. Jonathan Ortiz and Jason Stephens each pitched an inning of shutout relief. They each allowed a walk in their respective innings, but allowed nothing else. Ortiz has a 3-0 GBO-FBO ratio.
  • Abe Almonte was 2 for 3 with a double and 2 walks and 2 stolen bases. His batting average is now .277.
  • Brad Suttle was 0 for 1 and was taken out in the Top of 3rd. Hopefully, he's not injured.
  • Jesus Montero (catching), Carmen Angelini, Talyor Holiday, and Brandon Laird each picked up a hit in their at-bats. Montero and Laird had a double each. Montero was 0 for 2 in terms of throwing out base runners.
  • Austin Krum was 0 for 2.
  • Wady Rufino was 2 for 4.
