With no "Minor League Recap" to be had, I figure that this can serve as a little bit of a substitute. The New York Times (thanks Caffy) is reporting that Alan Horne, Jeff Marquez, and Danny McCutchen are spending a few days with the big league team, despite being off the 40-man,  to soak up the atmosphere. Being an empirically-oriented person, I always wonder how these short call ups affect young players. The Yankees have now brought up their top young prospects for three straight years. Interestingly, I'm pretty sure that for all three years, the Yankees have only brought up pitchers. The New York Observer wrote an interesting little article about Clemens and Schilling fending off the young guns. It's really a good read, I suggest it, and very relevant to the "Phil Hughes and velocity" discussion that we all had a few weeks ago.
