Honolulu blanked by Waikiki, 7-0 The Honolulu Sharks, featuring 4 Yankee prospects, were shut out last night by Waikiki in the first game of the season.

• George Kontos started the game and had a strange outing, giving up 2 unearned runs (thanks to 2 errors) on 3 walks and no hits in 2 1/3 innings, and striking out 3. While the walks are not what you would like to see, the lack of hits and 3 strikeouts are certainly signs that Kontos' stuff was good.
• Austin Jackson, playing center field and batting 2nd, was 0 for 4 with 2 strikeouts, a rough start for the talented outfielder.
• Brad Suttle did not start and was a pinch-hitter late in the game, going 0 for 0 with a walk.
• Anthony Claggett had a poor outing, giving up 2 runs on 3 hits and a walk in 1 inning of work, with 1 strikeout.
