Trenton defeats Akron, 10-5, Trenton wins series 3-1

• Daniel McCutchen didn't have his best outing, but he kept his team in the game. In 5 innings, McCutchen allowed 4 runs on 7 hits and a walk, and struck out 4.
• Steven Jackson gave up a run on 2 hits in 2 innings, and struck out 2.
• Scott Patterson pitched a perfect 8th.
• Justin Pope gave up a hit in a scoreless 9th.
• Reegie Corona was 2 for 5 with a double and a walk.
• Austin Jackson was 0 for 4 with a walk.
• Juan Miranda, making his return to the lineup, was 2 for 5 with a double.
• Matt Carson had a huge game, going 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 RBI.
• Cody Ehlers was 4 for 5 with a double.
• PJ Pilittere was 2 for 5.
• Marcos Vechionacci was 1 for 4 with a double and a walk.
• Gabe Lopez was 1 for 4.

The Thunder won the Eastern League for the first time in franchise history.  This caps off a dominant season that saw them in 1st place by a large margin since the beginning of the season.  They won with prospects, as Ian Kennedy, Joba Chamberlain, Alan Horne, Juan Miranda and many others contributed to their impressive season.  They are the 2nd minor league affiliate in the Yankees' organization to win their league championship, joining the Gulf Coast League Yankees.
