• George Kontos got the start, and was dominant. In 5 innings of shutout ball, the Northwestern product allowed only 3 hits and no walks, while striking out 11. He needed only 63 pitches to accomplish this, throwing 45 for strikes.

• Eric Wordekemper pitched a perfect inning of relief, lowering his ERA to 13.50 in 2 outings this season.
• Juan Miranda was 1 for 4 with a strikeout.
• Reegie Corona was 0 for 3.
