MLB.com reported that the Yankees have signed 2 Chinese players, lefty pitcher Kai Liu and catcher Zhenwang Zhang to minor league deals. Both players are 19, and while I have no idea how good they are supposed to be, they are young enough to be considered prospects. I am not sure what the Yankees are expecting from these guys, and where in the minors they are likely to play, but it is great to see the Yankees' new partnership with Chinese baseball begin to pay dividends. I'll let you know if I hear any more information about these players, such as scouting reports and stats.
