Scranton W/B vs Buffalo, Scranton defeated 4-5.
  • Shelley Duncan DHed, and was 1-4 with a double and a walk.
  • Eric Duncan was 2-5 with a double, a run scored, RBI, and a K, but also made two errors.
  • Runelvys Hernandez pitched 5 innings, gave up 6 hits (1 HR) and 4 runs (2 earned), walked three and struck out 4. Although I have nothing against him as a person, I don't want to see him in the Yankee uniform ever.
  • Edwar Ramirez pitched 3 perfect innings, while striking out 6. To add on, the three non-K outs were all ground outs. In 26.2 AAA innings, he has given up 13 hits and 9 walks, while striking out 47.
It is really getting hard to ignore Ramirez, even if you consider his age (although 26 isn't extremely old or anything). Trenton at Atloona, Trenton defeated 4-5.
  • Brett Gardner was 1-3 with a walk, a run scored, and a K.
  • Cody Ehlers was 1-4 with an RBI.
  • Juan Miranda DHed, and went 2-2 with a double and 2 runs scored.
  • Jeff Marquez had his second straight bad outing, giving up 9 hits (including 1 HR) in 5.0 IP, giving up 4 runs and a walk, striking out one.
Tampa vs Vero Beach, Tampa won 2-1.
  • Austin Jackson continued his hit streak since being promoted, going 1-4 with a K.
  • Jose Tabata was 2-4 with a K.
  • Francisco Cervelli was 2-2 with a double, a walk, and RBI.
  • George Kontos had another good outing, pitching 7 innings while giving up 5 hits and 1 run, walking 1 and striking out 3. Although he didn't strike out much, the 12-6 GO/FO ratio is very encouraging.
Charleston vs Savannah, Charleston loses 1-2 in 11 innings.
  • Everything went wrong for Chris Kunda, who was 0-5 with a K, and also had the error that ultimately lead to the unearned run on top of the 9th with two outs.
  • Michael Dunn has another solid outing, going 6 innings while giving up two hits and one walk, striking out three.
  • Jesse Hoover pitched two innings, giving up three hits and striking out one, but let the unearned run score at the top of 9th, leading the game to extra innings.
Staten Island at Aberdeen, SI defeated 2-5.
  •  Justin Snyder went 1-5 with a K, lowering his average to .346, but it should be noted that the hit was a HR. It was his first extra base hit since the triple he hit in his first game. It should also be noted that so far in 9 games, he is 9-26 with 9 walks to 3 K, a great ratio regardless of small sample size.
  • Taylor Holiday was 3-5 with 2 doubles and a K.
  • Austin Krum was 2-4 with a double and run scored. I wonder which would be first, him getting out of the interstate or milb.com fixing his name on the profile.
  • Dellin Betances earned the loss pitching 4.1 innings, giving up 7 hits and 3 runs (2 earned), walking two while striking out 7.
GCL Yankees vs GCL Indians, Yanks defeated 5-1.
  • Prilys Cuello was 2-5 with a K.
  • Zoilo Almonte was 1-4 with the only run scored.
  • Ross Ohlendorf, in his second rehab start at GCL, earned the loss while pitching 4.0 innings giving up 5 hits (including 1 HR), 3 earned runs while striking out one. However, no walks is always a plus.
One thing I have sadly learned in the past week: Hideki Matsui's wrist injury from last year must've hurt a LOT. Makes life much worse when it happens to be your dominant hand. Everyone, lets be careful when you go down the stairs in the dark, okay?
