3rd-round pick, Savannah College of Art and Design pitcher Ryan Pope, has signed, according to Peter Abraham in the Journal News.  http://www.nyjournalnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070629/SPORTS01/706290393/1034/SPORTS I assume that Pope signed for slot or near that if the signing is being announced before the August 15 deadline.  The article also says that the Yanks are currently negotiating with shortstop and Rice recruit Carmen Angellini, and hopefully they can get him signed and in the GCL soon.
