20 June 2007
- Steven White had another so-so start, allowing 3 runs on 4 hits and 4 walks, while striking out 23. His ERA is 4.80 on the season, and his future as a prospect is not looking promising.
- Chris Britton pitched 2 innings in relief, allowing a solo homerun while striking out 3.
- Edwar Ramirez piched another scoreless inning, striking out 2 while allowing an uncharacteristic 2 hits. His ERA is now a ridiculous 0.83, and he hasn't allowed a run since June 5.
- Eric Duncan went 2 for 5 with his 5th homer of the season.
- Shelley Duncan was 3 for 4 with home run #18, and he also drew a walk.
- The rest of the lineup combined for 4 hits, while the Duncans carried the offense with 5 hits and 6 RBI's between them.
- Alan Horne had another solid start, pitching 6 innings of 1-run ball while allowing 5 hits and 1 walk against 4 strikeouts. His ERA is down to 2.42.
- The Thunder scored 6 runs in 5.1 innings against a great pitching prospect in Chuck Lofgren.
- Brett Gardner was a catalyst at the top of the lineup by going 2 for 5, although he struck out thrice.
- Andy Cannizaro was 2 for 5 with a double.
- Shawn Garrett was 2 for 4 with a double
- Justin Christian was 2 for 5 with his 18th steal.
- Daniel McCutchen had a great outing, pitching 7 shutout innings while allowing only 2 hits, 1 walk, with 3 strikeouts.
- Colin Curtis was 2 for 5 with a stolen base.
- José Tabata was 1 for 4, bringing his average down to .300 even.
- Kevin Russo was 3 for 5 with his 13th steal of the season.
- Jared Greenwood was 2 for 4.
- Dellin Betances had a bit of a rough outing, allowing 3 runs in 4 innings while walking 2 and striking out 5. While Betances allowed 5 hits, it is worth noting that 2 of those hits were of the infield variety, and the second infield single got Dellin in trouble in the 2nd. It's far too early to worry, but I would like to see him do a little better.
- Craig Heyer pitched 3 scoreless innings in relief, striking out 3 and allowing only 1 hit.
- Donald Hollingsworth was 1 for 3 with a double and a walk.
- Damon Sublett, playing 2nd in his Yankee debut, was 1 for 2 with a walk.
- Chris Raber was 2 for 4 with a stolen base.
- Justin Snyder, forced to centerfield because of Sublett's arrival, was 1 for 4.
- Dickson Marquez, a 21 year-old pitcher from the Dominican Republic, pitched 4 scoreless innings to start the game. He also struck out 6 while allowing only 2 hits and walking 1.
- Prilys Cuello was 1 for 3 with a walk, a strikeout, 2 stolen bases and an error.
- 2007 draftee (out of University of Nebraska) Ryan Wehrle was 1 for 3 with a double.
- Melky Mesa, 20 year-old Dominican centerfielder, was 2 for 5 with a double, a triple and an outfield assist.
- Zolio Almonte had another good game, going 3 for 5 with 2 doubles.
- Abraham Almonte was out of the lineup and I'm not sure why. Hopefully he's not injured.
