Scranton/WB at Durham, Scranton lost 4-8 There really wasn't anything good to note about in this game in terms of prospects. Except for Bronson Sardinha going 2-4 with a run scored, RBI and SB, the rest of the actions were by filler players. Both Duncans were hitless, with Eric going 0-5 with 3K and Shelley going 0-4 with a K. Alberto Gonzalez was also hitless in 3 AB with a K. The pitching side wasn't any better, as Steven Jackson continues to struggle with 2.0IP 3H 1ER (solo-HR) 2BB 1K, earning his 8th loss of the season. The only pitcher to not give up runs was Ben Kozlowski, going 1.1IP 1H 1K. It was overall a sad game that didn't have much to bullet about. Trenton at Akron, Trenton lost 3-4.
  • Brett Gardner went 1-3 with a RBI, walk, and K.
  • Cody Ehlers went 1-3 with a HR, RBI, R, and 2 BB.
  • Justin Christian went 3-4.
  • Jeff Marquez went 5.0 IP 6H 2ER 4BB 3K, and also made an error. It should also be noted that rather unusually for Marquez, he had a 5:7 GO:AO ratio.
  • Michael Gardner pitched 3.0IP 3H 2R (1 earned) 2BB 2K.
To sum it up, MarquezAarom Baldris still has stone hands and made his 16th error of the season that lost the game for Michael Gardner. Tampa at Fort Myers, Tampa lost 0-2.
  • Jose Tabata went 2-4, and also GIDP. His season average is  .300 right now.
  • Francisco Cervelli went 1-3 with a double and also struck out.
  • Reegie Corona, Colin Curtis, Juan Miranda, Marcos Vechionacci, and Tim Battle were all hitless.
  • George Kontos pitched a solid game, going 5.0IP 3H 0R 1BB 6K, lowering his ERA to 2.05.
North/South Sally League Allstar game, South lost 1-3
  • Mitch Hilligross played as the fulltime 3B for the South team, and went 3-5 with a double and RBI, and struck out once. He also stole a bag.
  • Eduardo Nunez started as the SS, but didn't do much going 0-2 with a K and GIDP.
  • David Robertson pitched 1.0 innings and had a rather typical Robertson-outing, giving up zero hit/walk/run, while striking out one.
Staten Island at Brooklyn, SI lost 1-5
  • Donald Hollingworth, Luis Nunez, David Williams, Chase Odenreider, Justin Snyder each had one hit.
  • Austin Krum and Andres Perez were both hitless.
  • Braedyn Pruitt went 3-4.
  • Gabriel Medina, after struggling at Charleston, pitched 5.0 innings with only 1H and 6K to start the Staten Island Yankees.
  • Nicholas Chigges pitched 2 innings, giving up 4H 3ER 1BB and 1HR, while getting 3K.
  • Jason Kiley pitched one inning, giving up 3H 2ER 1BB and no K.
GCL Yankees at GCL Bluejays, Yankees lost 1-2
  • Prilys Cuello went 1-3 with an RBI, walk, and K.
  • Zoilo Almonte was 1-4 with a double and K.
  • Ryan Wehrle went 2-4 with a K.
  • GRod played 1B, and was hitless in 2 AB with a walk and K. He scored the Yankees only run.
  • Abraham Almonte and Melky Mesa were hitless.
  • Noel Castillo pitched 4 innings, gave up 4H 1ER and walked zero, while recording 6 K.
  • Hairo Heredia got the loss, going 3.2 IP with 3H 1ER 1BB 5K.
Although they lost, one walk total given up by the Yankee pitching was encouraging for a start. A rather sad all loss day for the organization from top to bottom, and coincidentally all was on the road. Oh well, there is always tomorrow, and Robertson still needs to be promoted.
