Scranton beats Charlotte, 9-3
  • Kei Igawa continued to pitch well in AAA, pitching 6 innings of 1-run ball. Igawa also allowed just 4 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 4.
  • Kevin Reese was 3 for 5 with a double.
  • Angel Chavez was 1 for 5 with his 5th homer.  On the season, Chavez is batting .309 with a respectable .830 OPS.
  • Bronson Sardinha was 1 for 5 with a triple.
  • Alberto Gonzalez was 2 for 4 with a double, a walk and a stolen base.
  • Raul Chavez was 2 for 5 with 2 doubles.
Trenton over Connecticut, 6-5
  • Brett Smith had a mediocre outing by his standards.  In 5 innings, Smith allowed 3 runs on 4 hits and 4 walks, while striking out 2.  This bumped his ERA up to 1.99, which shows how impressive he has been all season.
  • Scott Patterson pitched a perfect 6th, lowering his ERA to 1.22.
  • Zach Kroenke allowed a run in 1.1 innings on 2 hits.
  • Brett Gardner was 0 for 2 with 2 walks and a caught stealing, his 4th in 16 tries.
  • PJ Pilittere was 1 for 4 with his first home run of the season.  PJ is starting to heat up, batting .308 in his last 10 games.
  • Justin Christian was 1 for 4 with a double and a steal.
Tampa defeats Lakeland, 2-1
  • Daniel McCutchen got the start, and was great. McCutchen pitched 6 shutout innings, allowing 7 hits and 1 walk while striking out 4.
  • Reegie Corona was 2 for 4 with a walk.
  • Colin Curtis was 1 for 4 with a walk.
  • Jose Tabata was 1 for 4 with a double.
  • Juan Miranda was 1 for 4 with a homer, although he did strike out twice.
  • Marcos Vechionacci had his first hitless night in a while, going 0 for 4.
  • Tim Battle returned to his evil ways, going 0 for 3 with 3 strikeouts.
Charleston handles Augusta, 5-4
  • Hector Noesi started, and pitched 5 innings, allowing 3 runs on 5 hits and 3 walks, while striking out 2.
  • David Robertson pitched 2 innings of hitless relief, striking out 5 against 1 walk to earn the win.  His ERA is down to 0.88, which makes one wonder when he will be promoted.  He is also striking out about 12.95 batters/9 innings,  and only walking 3.07.
  • Jon Hovis was also impressive in relief, pitching a perfect 9th to earn his 14th save.  His ERA is down to 1.84, and he is also putting up strong peripherals, striking out over a batter/inning and posting a ratio of 2.5 groundball/flyballs.
  • Mitch Hilligoss was 3 for 3 with a double, and is now hitting .320.
  • Kyle Anson was 2 for 4, and his average is up to .325.
  • Seth Fortenberry was 2 for 4 with a double.
