- Runelvys Hernandez made his 2nd start as a Yankee, and pitched well again. In 6 innings, Hernandez gave up 6 hits and 0 walks while striking out 6 and allowing 1 run.
- Steven Jackson, now working out of the bullpen, pitched 1.2 innings of scoreless relief to earn the win. His ERA is still an ugly 6.05 however.
- Edwar Ramirez brought his ERA down to 1.02 with 1.1 innings of perfect relief, in which he struck out 3 batters. He is looking dominant down in AAA, and should be considered for a call-up if anyone in the Yankee bullpen goes down (or is ineffective, cough, Vizcaino, cough).
- Andy Phillips was 1 for 4 with his 10th homer. He is now batting .320.
- Shelley Duncan was 2 for 3 with a double.
- Jeff Marquez started, and pitched all 7 innings of the game. In those 7 innings, Marquez struck out 6, allowed 1 walk and 1 unearned run. This was a great outing for Jeff, and it will be interesting to see if his groundball/flyball ratio was what one would expect from a sinkerballer.
- Brett Gardner was 2 for 3 with a a double, a steal, and a walk, and is looking like a disruptive force atop the lineup again.
- Cody Ehlers was 0 for 2, and his average is down to .220. It's only a matter of time before the Yankees promote the surging Juan Miranda to replace Ehlers, who has struggled since being promoted to AA after a great season in Tampa.
- Joba Chamberlain made his AA debut, and was dominant, pitching 5 shutout innings while striking out 9, walking 2, and allowing 3 hits. Joba struck out the side in the first 2 innings, and was removed after 5 because he had thrown over 90 pitches (that's the problem with striking so many guys out).
- Jeff Kennard pitched 2 perfect innings to earn the save, striking out 1 along the way.
- Brett Gardner was 1 for 3 with another double.
- Ramiro Pena was 3 for 3, bringing his average up to .250.
- Cody Ehlers was 1 for 3 with a double.
- Kevin Whelan started to replace the promoted Joba Chamberlain, and he struggled. In 2 innings, Whelan allowed 4 runs on 4 hits and 3 walks, while striking out 3. This season, Whelan has struggled with his control, but has not had trouble striking batters out. Whelan will not become a good relief prospect until he can harness his stuff, but if he can, he has the potential to be a dominant reliever.
- Reegie Corona was 2 for 5 with a walk.
- Colin Curtis continued to rake, going 3 for 6, and his average is up to .309.
- José Tabata, in his 2nd game back from injury, was 1 for 6 with a double.
- Juan Miranda was 1 for 3 with 3 walks, indicating that teams have started pitching around him. It's only a matter of time before he is promoted to Trenton, as he is handling high-A pitching with ease right now.
- Marcos Vechionacci continued his hot hitting, going 4 for 5 with 3 doubles and a triple. Vech is hitting a sizzling .463 in his last 10 games, and he's starting to show some extra-base power as well. It looks like he's finally coming out of his funk, and may be re-establishing himself as a prospect to watch.
- Tim Battle was 1 for 3 with a walk and of course, a strikeout.
- Michael Dunn got the start, going 6 innings while allowing 3 hits, 4 walks, 2 runs, and struck out 7. Dunn's ERA is at 2.92, which is very impressive.
- Ferdin Tejeda pitched 2 perfect innings of relief.
- Jon Hovis pitched a scoreless 9th to earn the save, and his ERA is down to 1.91.
- Mitch Hilligoss was 1 for 3 with a double, and is now working on a 9 game hitting streak.
- Austin Jackson was 0 for 4 with a strikeout.
- Seth Fortenberry was 2 for 4 with a double.
- Eduardo Nunez was 2 for 4 with a double as well, and is now hitting .246.
- Kyle Anson was 1 for 4 with a homer.
