  • Brett Smith's start was shorted by a long rain delay. He allowed 3 runs in the 1st inning, but settled down after that.
  • Zach Kroenke finally allowed some runs, letting 3 pass home plate in relief of Smith after the rain delay. He went 1-2-3 in the 4th, but allowed 3 runs in the 5th and could have allowed more had he not picked off a runner and had Kevin Whelan to get the final out.
  • Whelan went 1-2-3 after getting Kroenkes' last out, but walked two batters to begin his 2nd full inning of work. He struck out one and gave up one run on an inherited runner allowed to score by Jeff Kennard.
  • Cody Ehlers returned only to go 0 for 4.
  • Justin Christian was 3 for 4 with two doubles and a triple.
  • P.J. Pilittere was 1 for 3 and was ejected in the 5th inning by the home plate umpire. I hope he was at least creative with whatever he said.

  • Dave Robertson relieved Dunn. He pitched two scoreless innings for the save, striking out two and allowing two singles. On top of the dominating strikeouts, Robertson has a 2.53 GO/AO ratio this year. Wow.
  • Mitch Hilligoss extended his hitting streak in his 4th at bat of the game, launching a double to left. 38 games and counting.
