Over a month after the #1 prospect on EJ's top 30 list was announced, many prospects have already put up performances worthy of changing their position on the list.  In addition, some recent draftees and Latin American signees making their minor league debuts have put themselves in the position to be considered for the new top 30.

Risers

Alan Horne, #8:  While Horne was already highly-ranked by EJ, as evidenced by his top-10 status, his continued dominant pitching has probably vaulted him ahead of Tyler Clippard (#5) and possibly Dellin Betances (#4) on the list of Yankee pitching prospects.  On the season, Horne has put up a 2.36 ERA, with over a strikeout/inning, a k/bb ratio of 3.5, and a groundout/flyout ratio of 1.47.  If he keeps up these numbers and handles a possible promotion to Scranton well, Horne will be only behind Chamberlain and Kennedy as a pitching prospect.

Austin Jackson, #13:   While Jackson's promotion to Tampa might have been surprising given his .260, .336, .374 line in Charleston, they must have seen something positive, as Jackson has exploded in the FSL.  Jackson, whose retooled swing has helped him hit .366, .402, .613 in Tampa (a tough park and league for hitters).  If Jackson is able to maintain a performance around this level (I'm expecting a slump eventually), he should skyrocket up the list into the top 5, especially if he plays centerfield.

Zach McAllister (#20):  Conservatively ranked by EJ because of his short track record, McAllister has experienced a huge jump in his prospect status as a result of his great pitching for Staten Island this season.  On the season, the former 3rd-round pick has a 2.97 ERA, 43 strikeouts and 14 walks in 39 1/3 innings, and a 2.52 groundout/flyout ratio.  If Zach keeps this up, he will definitely make the Yankees' top 10, and move ahead of his more-heralded teammate Dellin Betances.
