Scranton edges out Ottawa, 6-5 (12 innings)

Tyler Clippard had a mediocre outing, allowing 4 runs on 8 hits and 2 walks in 5 innings. T-Clip struck out 3, but gave up 2 home runs. His Scranton ERA is 3.75, and he is hurting his chances of getting called up again this season.
TJ Beam made his return to Scranton, giving up a homer in 2 innings, while striking out 1.
Chris Britton pitched 2 perfect innings while striking out 3 batters.
Justin Christian was 2 for 5 with a double and a steal, and is now hitting .324 in AAA.
Chris Basak was 1 for 2 with a walk.
Shelley Duncan was 2 for 5 with a strikeout.
Eric Duncan was 0 for 5, dropping his average to .227.
Bronson Sardinha was 2 for 5 with a double.

Trenton blanks Harrisburg, 6-0

Jason Jones pitched 5 strong innings, allowing no runs on 3 hits, while striking out 1.
Brett Gardner was 1 for 4 with a double, a walk, a steal, and 2 strikeouts.
Cody Ehlers was 1 for 2 with a double and 2 wlaks.
Juan Miranda was 1 for 3 with a homer, and he is now hitting .325 on the season in Trenton.
Carlos Mendoza was 2 for 3 with a double and a walk.

Tampa shuts down Dunedin, 5-0

Phil Coke shut the opposition out for 7 innings, giving up 4 hits and 4 walk
Josh Schmidt pitched 2 scoreless innings, striking out 2 and allowing 2 hits.
Austin Jackson was 2 for 4 with a steal, and he is now hitting .397 since getting promoted.
José Tabata was 1 for 4, and is now hitting .313 on the season.
Edwar Gonzalez got the Yankees' other hit, going 1 for 4 with a double and 2 strikeouts.

Charleston slaps Savannah around, 8-2 (continuation of suspended game)

Gabriel Medina started, lasting only 2 2/3 innings (not sure why), giving up 1 run on 4 hits and 1 walk.
Jesse Hoover pitched 2 shutout innings, allowing 1 hit and 1 walk while striking out 2.
Ferdin Tejeda allowed a rare run, giving up a solo homer in 2 innings while striking out 1.
Mitch Hilligoss was 0 for 4 in his return from a lower-body injury.
Seth Fortenberry had a great game, going 2 for 4 with 2 homers.
Josue Calzado was 1 for 3 with a walk.
Eduardo Nunez was 2 for 4.
Chase Odenreider was 1 for 2 with a homer and a walk.
Wilmer Pino was 1 for 4 with a double.

Charleston chases Savannah, 2-1 (7 innings)

Grant Duff earned his 11th win of the season by allowing 1 run on 6 hits and 2 walks in 6 innings.
Jon Hovis pitched a perfect 9th to get the save, striking out 1 and lowering his ERA to 1.66.
Mitch Hilligoss was 1 for 4.
Eduardo Nunez was 1 for 2 with a walk.
Chase Odenreider was 1 for 3.
Kevin Smith was 1 for 2 with a double and a walk.

Staten Island beats Batavia, 5-1

Nick Chigges started and was tough to hit, allowing just 1 hit and no runs in 4 innings. Chigges also walked 4, and struck out 8.
Jason Kiley pitched 3 scoreless innings to earn the win, allowing 1 hit and 2 walks while striking out 4.
Justin Snyder was 0 for 4 with 2 strikeouts.
Luis Nunez was 2 for 4 with a double.
Damon Sublett was 1 for 4 with a double, a walk, a steal, and 2 strikeouts.
Taylor Holiday was 1 for 5 with a strikeout.
Austin Krum was 1 for 4 with a strikeout and a steal.
Isiah Howes and DJ Hollingsworth were each 1 for 3 with a walk.
Frank Lonigro was 1 for 3 with a walk and 2 strikeouts.

The GCL Yankees were off today. Joba Chamberlain pitched an inning in the Future's Game, giving up 1 run on a leadoff walk, a steal, and a weak single, while also striking out a batter. He was consistently between 94-97 with his fastball, although his inconsistent control of the pitch made me think he was overthrowing. He also flashed his secondary pitches, although it was tough to see much of them in the small sample size. Joba seemed like a nice, humble kid from his interview after pitching his 1 inning, and I'm excited to watch his progress. Clay Buchholz of Boston looked pretty good, giving up 1 run on a homer by Joey Votto, but also striking out 2. That's all for tonight. I hope everyone had a great weekend.
