The GCL Yankees were off today. Joba Chamberlain pitched an inning in the Future's Game, giving up 1 run on a leadoff walk, a steal, and a weak single, while also striking out a batter. He was consistently between 94-97 with his fastball, although his inconsistent control of the pitch made me think he was overthrowing. He also flashed his secondary pitches, although it was tough to see much of them in the small sample size. Joba seemed like a nice, humble kid from his interview after pitching his 1 inning, and I'm excited to watch his progress. Clay Buchholz of Boston looked pretty good, giving up 1 run on a homer by Joey Votto, but also striking out 2. That's all for tonight. I hope everyone had a great weekend. PS, if you missed Joba's outing today in the Future's Game, you can see it here.
