Scranton tops Indianapolis, 8-5

Tyler Clippard had another rough outing, giving up 4 runs on 6 hits and 4 walks in 4 1/3 innings. His AAA ERA rose to 4.06, and it seems apparent that his confidence has been shaken by his major league stint, and his control seems to have deserted him.
Chris Britton allowed a hit and a walk in 1 2/3 scoreless innings to earn the win.
Jim Brower walked 1 in 2 innings with 2 strikeouts to record the save.
Brett Gardner was 0 for 4 with a walk and 2 strikeouts.
Justin Christian was 2 for 5 with a homer and a steal.
Shelley Duncan was 3 for 4 with his 24th home run of the season.
Angel Chavez and Eric Duncan were each 1 for 4.

Trenton beaten by Binghamton, 3-1

Jeff Marquez had a mediocre outing by his standards, allowing 3 runs on 9 hits and 1 walk in 5 innings. Jeff's GO:FO ratio was 5:7, which indicates that he is not pitching like a sinkerballer.
Michael Gardner struck out 3 in 3 scoreless relief innings.
Colin Curtis was 1 for 4.
Alberto Gonzalez was 1 for 3 with a walk.
Juan Miranda was 0 for 4.
Cody Ehlers and PJ Pilittere were each 1 for 4.

Tampa's game against Jupiter was postponed. Charleston spanks Savannah, 12-4

Eric Hacker had another strong outing for the Riverdogs, allowing 1 run on 9 hits and 1 walk in 6 innings, striking out 2 in the proces.
Ferdin Tejeda allowed a run on 4 hits in 2 innings of relief, and also struck out 3.
Mitch Hilligoss was 1 for 4 with a grand slam, 2 walks, and 2 strikeouts.
Eduardo Nunez was 2 for 4 with 2 walks.
Seth Fortenberry was 2 for 5 with a double and a walk.
Josue Calzado was 2 for 6 with a double and a strikeout.
Kevin Smith was 3 for 4 with a double, a triple and a walk.
James Cooper was 3 for 4 with a walk.

SI Yanks vanquish Vermont, 6-5

Zach McAllister had another strong start, allowing 1 run on 3 hits and 4 walks (2 were intentional). McAllister also struck out 5, and continued to keep the ball on the ground, with an 8:2 GO/FO ratio for the game.
Justin Snyder, playing shortstop today, was 3 for 4 with a double and a walk.
Taylor Holiday was 1 for 3 with a walk.
Braedyn Pruitt was 2 for 4 with a double and a walk.
DJ Hollingsworth was 1 for 3 with a strikeout.

GCL Yanks taken down by Tigers, 6-2

Reliever Jose Veras started his rehab today, pitching a scoreless inning while allowing 1 hit and striking out 1.
Wilkins De La Rosa struck out 3 in 2 scoreless innings, also giving up 1 hit and 2 walks.
Prilys Cuello was 2 for 4.
Zoilo Almonte was 1 for 4 with a double, and was also caught stealing.
Ryan Wehrle was 2 for 4.
Andres Perez was 1 for 4.
Jesus Montero, DHing in his Yankee debut, was 1 for 4 with a home run to centerfield in his first at bat, but he also struck out twice.
Gerardo Rodriguez was 1 for 4 with a double and 2 strikeouts.
Ben Blumenthal was 1 for 3 with his 2nd home run of the season.
