Tampa edges St. Lucie, 8-7
  • Daniel McCutchen had another strong start, allowing 1 run on 3 hits and 2 walks in 5 innings.  He also struck out 2 and allowed a solo homer.  Daniel is putting up very nice numbers, but given his age, it's hard to consider him much of a prospect.
  • Eric Wordekemper pitched a perfect 9th, striking out 1 to lower his ERA to 0.85.
  • Reegie Corona was 2 for 4 with a double.
  • Austin Jackson continued to rake, going 2 for 5 with his 4th homer and a double.  He is hitting .425 with a 1.168 OPS since being promoted, and he has cut down his strikeout rate (59 in 60 games in Charleston, 13 in 18 games in Tampa).

Staten Island defeats Auburn, 4-3
  • Zach McAllister had the breakout game everyone has been waiting for, pitching 6 scoreless innings and allowing only 3 hits and no walks.  Zach also struck out 10 while maintaining a 6:1 groundout:flyout ratio, showing that he kept the ball on the ground.  Zach's season GO:FO rate is 4.67, which shows that this was no fluke.  After a rough 1st outing, Zach looks to be getting it together, and is definitely worth watching.
