Brower, the closer for Scranton, has put up a 1.65 ERA for Scranton this season, with 40 strikeouts in 43 2/3 innings. These are very impressive numbers, but they pale next to the dominance of Edwar Ramirez and Joba Chamberlain. I'm a little surprised that Brower was called up ahead of Edwar Ramirez, but I guess he is a veteran that Torre will trust. I can't imagine Brower will be up for long, my guess is he goes back down when Giambi is activated.  Despite the Post's article saying that Joba has been called up, he has not been added to the Yankee roster yet, so Murdoch and Co. appear to have jumped the gun.
