  • Steven White was solid as usual, giving up 2 runs on 5 hits and 2 walks in 6 innings, and striking out 5.
  • Edwar Ramirez was his usual self, striking out 2 and allowing 1 hit in a shutout inning of relief. According to the New York Times, Edwar will be back with the Yankees as soon as Friday, which makes sense given his dominant pitching.
  • Brett Gardner was 1 for 4.
  • Kevin Reese and Bronson Sardinha were each 2 for 3, Sardinha had a double and a walk.
  • Erubiel Durazo was 1 for 4.
  • Alberto Gonzalez was 1 for 2 with a walk.
  • Eric Duncan was 1 for 2 with a home run, his 9th.
  • Andy Cannizaro was 1 for 3.
Scranton outlasts Pawsox, 3-2 (11 innings, game 2, if only the Yanks could sweep Boston like this)
  • Charlie Manning started, giving up just 1 hit and 1 walk in 3 shutout innings, and also striking out 3.
  • Ross Ohlendorf gave up 2 runs on 4 hits in 3 innings, and also struck out 2.
  • Jose Veras gave up 2 hits and struck out 2 in 2 shutout innings.
  • Chris Britton gave up a hit in 2 shutout innings.
  • TJ Beam struck out the side in the 11th to earn the win.
  • Brett Gardner set the table, going 3 for 5 with a stolen base and an outfield assist (throwing out his rival prospect Jacoby Ellsbury trying to stretch a double into a triple).

  • Chase Wright had his best outing in a while, pitching 6 scoreless innings while allowing 7 hits and 2 walks and striking out 1. Wright also kept the ball on the ground, forcing 11 groundball outs against 5 flyouts.
  • Kevin Whelan struck out 3 but (of course) walked 1 in a scoreless inning of relief.
  • Colin Curtis was 3 for 5 with a double.
  • Juan Miranda was 2 for 5 with a home run and a double.
  • Cody Ehlers was 2 for 4 with a double.
  • Gabriel Lopez was 2 for 4.
Tampa takes down Palm Beach, 10-7
  • George Kontos did not pitch well, giving up 6 runs (5 earned), 7 hits and 2 walks in 6 innings, although he did strike out 4. He didn't get much help from his bullpen, as Wilkins Arias allowed both inherited runners to score.
  • Eduardo Nunez was 2 for 5.
  • Austin Jackson was 0 for 4 with a walk.
  • José Tabata was 1 for 4 with a stolen base, his 15th.
  • Edwar Gonzalez was 2 for 4 with a triple.
  • Chris Malec was 1 for 3 with a home run.
  • Marcos Vechionacci was 1 for 4 with a walk and an error.

  • Ryan Pope had another solid outing, giving up 2 runs on 4 hits and a walk in 5 innings, and striking out 7. His ERA on the season is now 2.29.

  • Taylor Holiday was 1 for 5.
  • Damon Sublett was 1 for 4 with a double.
  • Braedyn Pruitt was 1 for 4.
  • Jose Gil was 1 for 5.
  • DJ Hollingsworth and Dave Williams were each 1 for 2.
  • Matt Morris was 3 for 4.
GCL Yanks beat Braves, 5-0
  • Noel Castillo had another dominant outing, giving up just 3 hits and a walk in 6 shutout innings, striking out 5 in the process. While his 1.51 ERA is nice, I would be more impressed if he weren't 23 playing against mostly teenagers.
  • Wilkins De La Rosa struck out 2 and gave up 4 hits in 2 shutout innings.
  • Abe Almonte was 1 for 3 with a walk.
  • Zoilo Almonte was 2 for 4 with a double.
  • Jesus Montero was 1 for 3, and also gunned out a runner trying to steal.
  • Gerardo Rodriguez was 1 for 4.
  • Kelvin Castro was 1 for 4 with a double and a stolen base.
  • Melky Mesa was 1 for 3.
